This research project focuses on cardiorenal syndrome (CRS); the bidirectional relationship between the kidneys and heart. Specifically, it explores CRS Type 4, which occurs when chronic worsening of the kidneys negatively impacts the heart. Histology techniques were used to study anatomical differences of coronary arteries between patients on dialysis vs. non-dialysis.
