To understand the environmental justice implications of accidental releases, we analyzed social inequalities in the residential exposure to chemical toxins in census tracts along the Texas Gulf Coast. This study utilized reports from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to characterize accidental releases from each refinery event related to Hurricane Harvey. Our results provide evidence of environmental injustices based on race/ethnicity, disability, and access to a vehicle.
