About the Award
Honors Thesis Completion Awards enable outstanding undergraduate students pursuing University Honors degree. Honors thesis projects entail independent scholarly and creative work within a students’ chosen expertise, undertaken with faculty mentor support. The thesis, alongside honors course requirements, culminates in University Honors at graduation.
Honors thesis completion award applications are processed through the Office of Undergradcuate Research via the UROP application. Students applying for these funds through the UROP portal will be considered simultaneously for both programs, with preference given to the Honors These Completion awards.

To be eligible to receive the Honors Thesis Completion Award, applicants must:
- Be conducting research or scholarly work with a University of Utah faculty member.
- Be actively working on Honors Thesis project.
- Apply through the Office of Undergraduate Research's UROP application portal.
