The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) is looking to hire an undergraduate student to serve in the capacity of Undergraduate Research Leader (URL) to fill the role as a Pre-Awards Specialist (SPUR).
Student Role: As an Undergraduate Research Leader (URL) you will:
- Coordinate with social media outreach and webpage updates with OUR staff.
- Hold weekly scheduled research advising hour (1) for peer-mentoring support. Time not spent with students will be spent on other position responsibilities.
- Participate in outreach activities such as tabling, campus-wide events, etc.
- Review OUR Travel and Small Grants applications.
- Attend supervision meetings and URL team meetings.
- Communicate via Teams and uMail. All URLs are required to utilize these communication platforms in a timely manner.
- Provide support to the Summer Programs for Undergraduate Research (SPUR) programs by facilitating workshops and supporting outreach activities throughout the academic year to increase student applications.
- Other position duties and tasks as assigned.

Project Duration: We are seeking students who can work for a minimum of three semesters, starting Fall 2026, with the prospect of renewing.

Paid Description:
$15 per hour; 10 per week
Minimum Requirements:
- Matriculated U of U undergraduate who is in good academic standing.
- Will be enrolled (full-time) during Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and can commit to working these semesters.
- Participated in UROP or SPUR at least one semester and fulfilled requirements (or with anticipation to fulfill the requirements).
- Preference 2nd and 3rd year students.
