Co-Designing and a Diabetes Intervention with Deaf Adults and their Care Partners

Project description

We are using community-based participatory research to develop a diabetes intervention for Deaf adults living with diabetes. We have Deaf and CODAs (child of a deaf adult) members of the team and also use ASL interpreters at our meetings.

Student Role: Develop educational content (power points, videos, handouts) with guidance, data collection, data analysis
Project Duration: Minimum 5 hours/week up to 20 hours/week
Opportunity Type: Volunteer; Prepare a UROP proposal; Earn independent study credit

Minimum Requirements: Fluent in American Sign Language, able to communicate by email, open to training on new technologies to collect or analyze data
