Artist’s Statement: For my piece I wanted to focus on the emotions that go hand and hand with humanness. Emotion, though we know it really doesn’t, seems like it comes from the heart. When we feel joy, our hearts feel light and free, when we feel hurt, they feel heavy and empty. What I find interesting is how differently we all go about when dealing with the matters of the heart. Some people are remarkable with emotion regulation, others tend to struggle, but despite it all our hearts are the same. Made up of every small piece that makes us who we are.
