Faculty mentor: Rebecca Larsen

My team researched the usage and collection of DNA in the US criminal justice system.
We determined that the Government should not be developing DNA databanks to support law enforcement.
Although letting the government develop a DNA databank to assist law enforcement would help catch criminal in sexual assault cases and murders.
We argue that collecting DNA from 3rd party genealogy testing like “23 and me” and “ancestry.com” as well as faulty DNA samples that may be collected by police officers.
