My project was to develop a Differential Phase Contrast Microscope that can fit within an incubator. It will be used to measure the growth rates of different cancer cells and calculate how effective chemotherapies are at treating various cancer strains. Additionally, I have worked on developing a DPC microscope that can almost simultaneously collect darkfield images. This can be used to gather information about absorption and scattering affects within cell samples.
