This research focused on applying loop transformations to time consuming, loop-based algorithms. This project narrowed in on LU matrix factorization as the target of optimization. By applying compiler-lever loop transformations such as unrolling, tiling, and re-ordering we were able to achieve significantly faster run times than the original, unoptimized algorithm.
