As the number of those working past 65 years old increases, it is crucial that workplaces maximize aging workers’ safety, as they are more prone to severe/fatal work injuries. To reduce the risk of falls from occurring, a series of off-the-shelf insoles with attributes previously shown to improve balance were assessed via full-body motion capture for their effect on static stability. It was found that the textured insoles improved static balance more significantly than the non-textured control.
