Faculty mentor: Gannet Hallar
In June of 2020, a Saharan dust plume impacted the Caribbean and Southeast U.S. with record levels of dust. Dust aerosols have impacts on the climate and human health depending on their vertical location in the atmospheric column. This research investigates the timing and intensity of the Saharan dust event and the contrast between surface and column measurements.
