The study aims to help determine a standardized coordinate system for use with ankle biplane fluoroscopy. Principle component axes(PCA) were applied to the tibia, talus, and calcaneus of a cohort of bones from healthy individuals. Results showed that with anatomic bone differences, PCA are significantly variable even without additional morphology differences. Ongoing analyses are comparing landmark and geometric fit coordinate systems and other patient populations to the PCA results.
