Our research focuses on the impacts of radionuclides in the environment and the use of palynology as a tool for understanding past contamination events. Our study area is Williams Lake, WA., as it is located near a release of ruthenium in 1954 from the Hanford Nuclear Site. Following a 2017 ruthenium leak across Eurasia, this research has seen increased relevance, but has received limited research. We hope that this will provide a better understanding of radionuclides in the environment.
