Faculty mentor: Ella Myers

In this presentation, I explain how Stuart Hall’s social framework of ideological hegemony can be used to examine social internet environments. Stuart Hall belongs to the Marxist school of sociological thought and adapts Gramsci’s ideological frameworks to examine contemporary political contexts. I contribute to Hall’s examinations in this presentation by going deeper into the basic mechanics of internet technologies and their usage as social, and economic tools.
